About Amirim

Moshav Amirim was established in November, 1958 by a small group of people who wanted to build a community where all residents are vegetarian and vegan, and which would be ecologically clean – no spraying or chemical fertilizers.

The moshav is located in the heart of the Galilee, surrounded by enchanting natural grove and observation spots viewing the Kinnereth (Sea of Galilee), the lower Galilee and the Golan Heights.

The moshav is blooming and prospering, with developed tourism. You can enjoy many services in the village, including restaurants, spas, art galleries, breathtaking nature paths, and more

In the summer – swimming pool and concerts with a view to the Kinneret lake, free of charge.

Around Amirim

In addition to the beautiful hike paths in the moshav and around it, there are many places which are considered holy to different religions, such as Mount Meron, a holy place for Jews and Druze, with the graves of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai and his son Eleazar, and the grave of Nabi Sabalan. Each year on Lag BaOmer there is a celebration on the grave of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai.

The baptismal site Yardenit, a holy place for Christianity and other religions, is located at about a 30 minute drive from Amirim, at the south part of the Kinneret, at the spot where the Jordan River meets the Kinneret. According to tradition, this is the place where Jesus baptized John.

Close by you can drive to places like Mount of Beatitudes, Tiberias, Nazareth, Safed, Rosh Pinna, and other fascinating places
